The last two days I've read 22 chapters. I finished up 2 Sam and am now in 1 Kings. I also read in the Psalms. A single sentence (a parenthetical one at that) put some issues in my heart and mind at rest. "For Thou, even Thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men." 1 Kings 8:39 How comforting, when I can't even reach the depths of my own motivations, emotions, and thoughts.
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.

5 Reflections:
Yes! I remember that verse! I'm quite sure I wrote it down too. God has been showing me sooo much of how little I know myself.
And yet, He knows everything about me and cares deeply about me. :)
Isn't He good?!
You can do it!!! 22 chapters is a lot! :)
Keep up the good work Kaylene! You can do it! I am still a couple of days behind, but hopefully I will be able to make it up soon! Love, Sarah
I'm reading in 2 Sam right now. I know this is not an earth shattering revelation but something stood out at me as I was reading about the battle between Absolam and David. That the forest caused more death than the sword - Do you think that that's where JRR Tolkien got the idea of the trees and the orcs in the battle of Helms Deep?
Keep up the good work, Kaylene! You can do it! :-) Hope you have blessed weekend!
Hey! I'm four days behind but working hard to catch up. I'm mostly reading in Isaiah and a little in Psalms (which I will finish in a few days). Thanks for all of the encouragement... I don't think I would have stuck with this with out it. Praying for you! It sounds like you are making great headway!
